New Classes Offered
The following is a list of updated and new classes being offered at Riverside in November/December. Materials for all classes are extra, and must be purchased at Riverside Yarns. Space is limited in all classes (except Knit Knight), please call to register, 519-371-4311
Felted Clogs - Thurs. Nov. 15th 6:30 - 8:30pm $15
You’ll love these cosy slippers that knit up quickly. We’ll
get you started, show you the different stitches and
discuss the technique of felting. These make great
Christmas Gifts.
Thrum Mittens - Wed. Nov. 21st 6:30 - 8:30pm $15
Hand-knit mitts are all the rage this year, and these ones
are especially warm with tufts of fleece knitted right in.
This class is a great introduction to working with double
pointed needles, and requires the purchase of a colourful
Fleece Artist mitten kit ($27).
Finishing - Thurs. Nov. 22nd 6:30 - 8:30pm $15
So you’ve got your project knitted, but you hate sewing it
together - you’re not alone. We’ll teach you some great
finishing techniques to give your projects professional
looking results. Come with your knitted project pieces,
or 3-4 stocking stitch squares that you can use to practice
these new stitches.
Cabled Scarf - Tues. Nov. 27th 6:30 - 8:30 $15
This one-night class will teach you how to create cables
(you won’t believe how simple it is). We’ll work on a scarf
in chunky yarn, so there’s lots of time to complete this for
someone special for Christmas.
Fair-Isle Wrist Warmers - Tues Dec. 4th 6:30 - 8:30 $15
These are the perfect project to learn 2-colour fair-isle
knitting. They’re quick and they’re fun. Once you’ve
mastered this technique- you’ll be able to create beautiful
intricate patterns with colour in your knitting.
Knit Knight - Thurs. Nov. 29th 6:00 - 8:30 free
This is our last knit knight until the new year. Bring your
finished projects for a show and tell, and enjoy a night out
of knitting with friends.
